I've Never Seen A Court Recorder In A Middle School Classroom Before

Is it standard procedure for your child's school to call you and recommend you bring an attorney to parent-teacher conferences?

Just askin'. No particular reason.

I've been called to numerous parent-teacher conferences for elementary, middle and high school and I've never been advised to bring legal counsel... and one time it wouldn't have been a bad idea.

You know you can't just leave this like this. Don't you? :)

Agreed, come on, spill it. I'll fill you in on my kid's conferences then! Deal? :-)

Just kiddin', guys. Actually, I had the original thought go the other way around.

Picture this:

You walk into the classroom, introduce yourself, and say "...and this is Mr. Jones of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe. You can call him 'counsel for the plaintiff.'"

And then produce a portable tape recorder and start recording.

Well, I'll tell you about my kid's conferences anyway (as I am _really_ bored). Basically, if the six year old makes it a whole half day without cussing his teacher out (as much as a six year old can, of course), it's considered a "good day".

The eight year old is apparently a freaking genius, which makes me wonder who is real parents are....

A six-year-old raised by _you_? Seems that he'd have access to a wide variety of splendid words...
